Shearer reveals his Saudi takeover fear as he hits nail on the head over transfer uncertainty

Alan Shearer has admitted that he fears the takeover could not happen, citing the length of time it’s taking as a clear red flag.

Our club legend also believes, and rightfully so, that the situation is not fan on Bruce or our supporters, with the club effectively paralysed while in this current state of limbo.

Here is what Big Al had to say on Match of the Day last night:

“It’s not fair on Steve Bruce, it’s not fair on the club, not fair on the fans.

He doesn’t know whether he’s going to be shopping in Lidl or Harrods next season.

“So a decision needs to be made. But it has to be doubtful now because it’s taking this long.”

Now the Premier League season has concluded, and the 20/21 fixture plans have been ironed out, there is no rock for Richard Masters & Co to hide behind when it comes to finalising our takeover.

Surely, surely this week is the one where everything will be sorted – whether that be positive or not. The Premier League are handicapping one of their 20 shareholders.

  1. If I made a mortgage application, the Bank or Building Society would have a target time by which they would make a decision. It is absurd & ridiculous that the Premier League appears to have an ‘unlimited’ amount of time to do the O & D test. All fans should complain about the PL to their MP – it is not good enough! The club, players and fans are all in limbo due to the very poor service received from the Premier League.

  3. Would they have done the same to the Manchester clubs or Liverpool, Arsenal etc. I very much doubt it. They don’t want the toon to be among their elite.
