Takeover revolt grows as four ex-NUFC stars join forces & petition passes 55,000 mark

Former Newcastle United stars are now starting to get behind the petition to investigate the Premier League over their abysmal handling of the takeover.

The movement is starting to gain significant traction, with over 56,000 now pledging their allegiance to the cause at the time of writing and signing the petition.

Now former players Tino Asprilla, Rob Lee, Robbie Elliot and Malcom Macdonald have urged their followers to support the campaign to help us find some answers.

Amanda Staveley said following the breakdown of the takeover that it was up to us as supporters to try and reignite the deal, and the petition passing the entire capacity of St James’ Park came on a night where the NUFC Trust revealed they have had contact with the PCP partners businesswoman.

You can add your name to the petition here, as well as join the NUFC Trust – the only Newcastle supporters trust recognised by the Premier League – for a small fee of £2.

  1. I am a Newcastle Fan and I find that the PL are a Disgrace how they could NOT ALLOW THIS TAKEOVER TO GO THROUGH WHEN THEY HAVE LET THE LIKES OF MANCHESTER CITY AND SHEFFIELD UNITED BE TAKEN OVER BY SAUDI GROUPS. THIS THING ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS BE PART OF THEM NOT ALLOWING THE TAKEOVER TO GO THROUGH PROVES THAT THEY LET THIRD PARTIES DICTATE THERE ACTION. PL HAVE NO BACKBONE AND MUST HAVE A BIG YELLOW LINE GOING DOWN THEIR BACKBONE. IF THEY WANT TO GO ON ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS SHOULD TALK TO THE BRITISH GOVERMENT ABOUT SELLING WEAPONS TO THE SAUDIS.

  3. It strick me that, Mauriss, was always going to buy newcastle but then we heard that Mr Big balls got an offer from Saudi, for £300.mil, since then the deal has drag on, after 14 weeks waiting for pl to give a decision Saudi pulled out, now we hear again Mauriss want to buy and Ashley will give him until 14 August. If that goes through who is getting the back hander, plus ashlet has an extra £17mill, premier league is a disgrace I hope the fans fight yo stop this going through if the fans can’t have what they want why should Mauriss, Ashley, and pl get what they want

  6. The Premiership hierarchy and the Premiership Clubs who were opposed to the takeover of Newcastle United want to take a serious look at themselves as they allow the Chinese, Russian, American, Thai, and H.R.H. Prince Abdullah bin Mosa’ad bin Abdulaziz Al Sa’ud of the Royal House of Saudi who owns 50% of Sheffield United as well as other investors to buy clubs like Wolves, Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. to invest their funds as it is supposed to be a level playing field for all clubs but evidently not.
    SHAME ON YOU ALL.
