Boris Johnson issues takeover message to the Premier League via the NUFC Trust

As revealed by the NUFC Trust in the last few moments, Boris Johnson has today supported calls for the Premier League to release a statement regarding the potential takeover of Newcastle United.

This comes after the potential buyers, Newcastle fans, a huge number of North-East MPs and the Independent Football Ombudsman piled pressure on the Premier League to provide some clarity on the matter over the past week.

Here’s what the NUST have had to say in the last few moments, confirming backing from the Prime Minister – which is brilliant news in our bid to gain answers after over four months of silence:

This follows on from over 5,000 letters being sent to MP’s this week asking for answers and transparency from the Premier League after the buyers ‘withdrew’ their bid due to the time it had taken top flight chiefs to make a decision over the £300m deal.

On a day where the popular petition was shared by Ant and Dec and edged closer to the 100,000 mark, this is massive and a high-level push for answers from those who’ve left us in the dark for too long.

Over to you know, Richard Masters!

  1. F*ck, didn’t expect Johnson to get directly involved. This has to be a good thing, at least in the respect that Masters and the Premier can surely not withstand this pressure and remain silent.

  2. Well done Boris I think they will have marked underpants when they read this. They still won’t publish full details? Frightened of jail time perhaps.?
