BN Group make big move in bid to complete shock £300m takeover & reveal plans for NUFC

Earlier today, a big ‘exclusive’ emerged from the Shields Gazette’s Liam Kennedy, revealing that Singapore-based investors Nelson and Terence Loh had held talks with Mike Ashley over a potential takeover bid.

A few hours on, they are now reporting that the Bellagraph Nova (BN) Group, co-founded by Evangeline Shen and the Loh cousins, have now made a formal move.

The Gazette claim that they have submitted proof of funds and a letter of intent to Mike Ashley, with them also willing to pay £250,000 in order to access the club’s ‘data room’.

Miles Starforth’s piece states they are now waiting to hear back from Mike Ashley and his lawyers, but reveals the ex-Mag who is ‘fronting’ the bid – Michael Chopra!

It’s said the ‘powerful’ group intend to invest in both the city and local community if their bid is successful, with them also stating in their letter to Mike Ashley that their ownership can help the club ‘realise its full potential’. Meanwhile, The Gazette say a ‘senior source’ close to the group has told them they are “willing to massively contribute to the development of the club.”

The BN Group have investments in over 100 countries (covering property, medicine, financial services and entertainment), posted a global revenue over over £9billion last year and describe themselves “leading player on the world stage”.

Could this explain this tweet from Michael Chopra – who recently claimed to be behind a separate bid from a Saudi Royal – earlier last week?

It sounds like they mean business and it’s a genuine bid, not that NUFC fans will be getting remotely carried away based on what’s gone on over the past five months!

  1. Hope this one comes off. Clearly Amanda and Rubens Bros have lost their bid to a takeover so time to move on, plus the PL will probably pass it straight away closing the Saudi saga once and for all which has been a complete shambles. It’s a shame the Rubens and Amanda could not pull it off without SA especially as they are in situ in the NE and have more wealth than these new bidders. Goes to show they were not fully committed to buying the toon. Such a shame.

  2. Anyone checking to find the Qatar corrupt links. Give these money to stop Saudis then pull the plug in a few years – in between usual dont spend much keep the team tredding water so not to affect so called top clubs. Sounds very like the kind of thing Qatar would do. ❓
Get the bid back in PIF back on track and Masters and his corrupt squad know they are being watched closley now
