Eagle-eyed fans have spotted what appears to be the opening round of 2020/21 fixtures via the Fantasy Premier League site – and it suggests that we’ll face Leeds United in our first game of the new season.
If true, we would face Marcelo Bielsa’s side in their first fixture in the top flight for 16 years and it would be our closest away game distance-wise since facing rivals Sunderland back in October 2015.
It should be noted that these leaked fixture lists aren’t always on the money but we don’t have long to find out the truth as the official Premier League schedule is set to be announced this week.
In other news, our diluted pre-season schedule will begin shortly and two friendliest that have already been confirmed are against Championship sides Barnsley and Stoke City.
We’re set to face Barnsley at Benton on August 29th, while the Stoke Senitel report that we’ll take on the Potters on September 5th – the weekend before the new season starts.
With international travel off the cards, all of our preparations for the season will be held in the UK and with the season set to start in just five weeks time, it gives managers little time to get their squad ready for the campaign ahead.
