Newcastle in talks with Liverpool over loan deal for in-demand striker – Report

Newcastle United have been in contact with Liverpool over a potential loan deal for highly-rated striker Rhian Brewster, according to Goal.

Neil Jones – Liverpool’s correspondent for Goal.com – claims we are one of several Premier League clubs to have submitted an enquiry over the England U-21 star.

They report that ourselves, Aston Villa, Burnley, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Fulham are all interested in the 20-year-old talent, with Jurgen Klopp expected to loan him out to a Premier League side this summer for some much needed game time at top flight level.

Brewster enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Swansea last season alongside current Mag Freddie Woodman and reported target Conor Gallagher, with him bagging an impressive 11 goals in 22 appearances to help fire them to the play-off semi finals on the final day of the 2019/20 Championship season.

He looks a future star and comes alive in front of goal, but any club that gets him will be needing to give him regular game time – and I’m not sure we can go into the new season relying on a talented yet unproven 20-year-old to fire us to safety?

He would be a very useful signing if we brought in a more senior striker alongside him, however I don’t think many are holding their breath for the arrival of more than one forward this summer.

Here’s him in action at Swansea last season:
