Callum Wilson has just arrived in Newcastle via Mike Ashley to complete £20m move – Sky Sports

Sky Sports have confirmed in the last few moments that Callum Wilson has just landed in Newcastle ahead of his £20m move from Bournemouth.

This comes via their man in the North-East, Keith Downie, who reveals that the striker was brought to Tyneside via Mike Ashley’s private helicopter this evening.

With personal terms not expected to be a problem, Downie also reports that the 28-year-old will undergo the first part of his medical TONIGHT and complete the remainder tomorrow before he puts pen to paper at St James’ Park.

Here’s what he tweeted in the last few moments, confirming Wilson has touched base following a Sunday night flight from the South Coast:

Finally a proven Premier League striker on Tyneside and a huge breakthrough for Steve Bruce, with it appearing as though he’s finally got his man.

Aston Villa made a bid for the striker on Saturday, offering £1m more than our £20m bid, however Sky Sports confirmed that their offer was withdrawn earlier today after Dean Smith accepted that Wilson preferred a move to St James’ Park.

A brilliant signing for the club and it won’t be the last either, with Ryan Fraser said to be close after he too flew up to Newcastle on Friday.

Could a double announcement be on the cards for the former Bournemouth teammates?
