NUFC handed generous Carabao Cup draw as 2nd & 3rd round opponents are revealed

The Carabao Cup draw has just taken place, confirming Newcastle United will host Blackburn Rovers in the SECOND round this month.

The THIRD round draw has also been made – including the seven teams competing in Europe this season – which reveals that we’ll travel to one of Morecambe or Oldham should we see off Blackburn at St James’ Park next week.

The Rovers game will take place on either Tuesday the 15th of September or Wednesday the 16th, with it set to come in between our opening day trip to West Ham on Saturday 12th and our first home game of the 2020/21 Premier League season against Brighton on Sunday the 20th.

The Blackburn game will see former Mag Adam Armstrong return to St James’ Park following his impressive tally of 17 goals and 7 assists across 2019/20.

A very generous draw for NUFC and a huge big chance to progress to the last 16 should we see off Blackburn Rovers next week!
