The clip is from the brilliant new ‘All or Nothing’ documentary series on Amazon Prime – a fly-on-the-wall style show showcasing behind the scenes footage of Spurs’ 2019/20 last season.
In this scene Rose has gone to Tottenham’s training ground early in the morning to confront the gaffer about his lack of playing time, believing that he has been treated unfairly since Mourinho’s arrival.
He goes on to slate his own team-mates for playing “***” in training but still getting played every week, something that is hardly going to go down well at the club he now plays for once again.
Watch it for yourself here:
Perhaps even more shocking is that he petulantly threatens Mourinho with Daniel Levy, saying that he will speak to the chairman about the situation – showing the more sinister side of the modern game and his own personality.
That said, some feel it was a brilliant show of honesty from Rose, who wanted to know why he was being messed around by Mourinho.
Either way, this confrontation was likely a key building block behind his eventual move to Tyneside, as it is apparent that he does not get on well with Mourinho and pursued the chance to play first-team football as soon as he could in the January that followed.
His time at Newcastle was underwhelming to say the least and he looks set to start the new campaign in an awkward predicament with no club looking likely to sign him.
With Jamal Lewis set to sign at left-back, it looks like a move back to Tyneside won’t be happening anytime soon.
