Newcastle closing in on the signing of ‘surprise’ South American – Alan Nixon

According to Alan Nixon, an unnamed ‘South American‘ is closing in on a ‘surprise’ move to Newcastle United.

Nixon – who was the first to report Federico Fernandez’s move from Swansea a few years ago – dropped the hint on Twitter just a few moments ago, and gave away a few minor details without giving away the mystery player’s name.

As you can see below, he describes the player as a ‘low cost’ and ‘interesting’ signing who is ‘young-ish’, also hinting that we may hear more on the deal in the next ‘day or two’.

Here’s what Alan Nixon revealed in a transfer update to his NUFC followers:

Where to start with this one?!

Hugely intriguing news if true, especially when he describes it as an ‘interesting’ signing and a potential ‘surprise’ for Newcastle supporters.

Who knows who it could be (and whether it proves to be true or not), but with us lacking depth and quality in certain areas and having a few loan deals left to use, it would be good to see us continue our summer business after a productive few days in the market last week.

Any ideas, folks?!

  1. Sky da like Martinellli or Morelos at a push. When he says ‘one’ it makes it sound like he’s responding with a striker
