NUFC take former Saint-Étienne talent on trial – & he’s already impressed Saint-Maximin with wonder goal

According to The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, Newcastle United are taking a close look at former Saint-Étienne talent Florent Indalecio.

He reports that the 23-year-old has been on trial with the club in recent weeks, featuring in a few of the second string’s pre-season friendlies.

The French no.10 was released by Ligue 1 club Saint-Étienne for ‘bad behaviour’, however it’s reported that he’s now on Tyneside and looking to earn himself a contract at the club.

Indalecio appears to have made an immediate impression too, scoring a wonder goal in training that made it onto Allan Saint-Maximin’s Instagram story just a few moments ago. Watch it below:

He’s clearly caught the eye, but Lee Ryder insists that it is not yet clear if he’ll remain on Tyneside following a trial.

Speaking about his poor discipline earlier this year, here’s what he had to say:

“I had bad behaviour, I was a rowdy and cheeky student. I was fired from the centre two weeks before the end of the course.

“The coaches did not want to keep me, football was not enough. I was too young, and at that time I didn’t realise it.”
