Official photos arrive as Yoshinori Muto joins fellow Mag in Spain following loan exit

A few days on from Florian Lejeune’s loan exit to La Liga side Alvaves, Yoshinori Muto has now completed his move to Spain.

The Japanese international has joined Eibar on a season-long loan, with both clubs confirming the deal in the last few moments.

Here’s a few pictures of the 28-year-old putting pen to paper at the La Liga side – who kicked off their 2020/21 campaign with a 0-0 draw with Celta Vigo over the weekend:

With two goals in 28 appearances since a £9.5m from Mainz in 2018, he’s struggled to make an impact at St James’ Park – but hasn’t been given the game time to prove himself by either Benitez or Bruce, in truth.

That said, there must be a valid reason for that, so hopefully both he and Lejeune can stay fit and enjoy successful loan stints away in Spain.

Interestingly, Muto will link up with Japanese international teammate Takashi Inui at Eibar – a player who has shone since making the step up to La Liga.

Good luck to him. With him likely to have rotted on the bench had he not secured a loan move away, let’s hope he can make the most of this and return a different player.

  1. Now we can sit back and see what he can do – and we will all be horrified that we loaned him out.

I reckon he’ll get more with Eibar than Joelinton and ASM combined here.
