Very interesting comments as Blackburn fan is left baffled by NUFC & one player in particular

Before Tuesday night’s game, we caught up with Blackburn fan Chris Martin (@ChrisMartin_93) to find out more about ex-Mag Adam Armstrong on his return to St James’ Park.

We then caught up with Chris after the match, getting his thoughts on a game he was ‘sickened’ to lose and his take on a Newcastle side who somehow came away winners from a Carabao Cup clash Rovers domnated in every single stat…aside from the scorelline!

Here’s what he had to say, with him left baffled by Joelinton but impressed with new boy Ryan Fraser:

A disappointing result considering how good we were, but it’s what to expect when you’re that wasteful in front of goal. But the fact that you got out of that with a 1-0 win is a bit of a sickener!

We were the better side throughout – most shots, most possession, better chances – but we couldn’t make any of it count. But this is a prime example of what happens when you don’t take your chances. You took your opportunity when it arose. We didn’t.

I’ll be honest; goal aside, your lot weren’t good at all in the first half. We just kept attacking down the right hand side and not much was being done to stop it. It was like we were being allowed to keep the ball to see if we could do anything with it (which admittedly, we didn’t – hence why we’re out!). You saw the game out pretty well in the second half, but I think a lot of that was to do with the fact that we just weren’t creating good enough opportunities.

That being said, Ryan Fraser looks good and impressed me. He was an absolute handful when he was on the pitch and his goal was well taken! That Saint-Maximin looks a player as well – I know he didn’t do all that much, but he looked the best footballer out there when he was on.

On the flip side; Joelinton…my word. He Didn’t really do much at all for me!

You’d expect him to show something considering how much money you’ve spent on him! Not great. Maybe you do need Armstrong back!?

Not a major disappointment that we’re out at this stage since we can focus on the league now, but it would have been nice to get a decent cup run. Plus our fans can appreciate a good performance when they see one, and that was. Just a little work required and we could be in business.

Fair play – good luck in the next round!

It must’ve been a sickener for Blackburn fans, however they look a side capable of making a push towards the play-off spots this season if last night’s performance was anything to go by.

Good luck to them for the rest of the season!

  1. Hi guys hope everyone is well I tell you I am actually starting to get the football bug back ! And it’s not by our upturn in fortunes or new players or the fact that football is back ! But what is really giving me the itch this time is we are seeing the proper football fans making their way to the surface again and what I mean by proper fans is the the following.. Bournemouth fans apart from a few have been really respectful about wilson and to a lesser extent fraser coming to nufc I mean they have just lost Eddie Howe, ake, wilson, fraser, ramsdale on top of being relegated but have shown their class by wishing them well and informing us of what to expect without being bitter about it so again Bournemouth fans top quality! And also the exact same to be said of Norwich fans over jammal Lewis best player for Norwich and hes come to us again cant be nice to see your best players leave but they have been really respectful about his move also top quality fans and to read the above comments from a Blackburn fan is also nice this is afterall the beautiful game slowly getting back its beautiful fans
