Transfer links have gone noticeably quiet following the triple swoop that saw us sign Wilson, Fraser and Lewis for a combined £35m the week before last.
Today, however, we’ve been credited with an interest in two Frenchman – Monaco’s Djibril Sidibe and Rennes striker Georginio Rutter.
Starting with Sidibe, an ‘exclusive’ from 90Min.com reports that we are eyeing a move for the right-back who spent last season on loan at Everton.
The 28-year-old France international looks set to move on from Monaco this summer and could be available at a cut-price fee, with West Ham and Wolves said to be competing with ourselves for his signature after Carlo Ancelotti opted against signing him on a permanent deal for £10m.
They also report that the Ligue 1 side are willing to let him leave on loan once again – but only if a deal includes an obligation to buy.
Elsewhere, The Mirror claim we are one of several clubs showing interest in highly-rated Rennes striker Georginio Rutter.
The 18-year-old is being tracked by Newcastle, Arsenal, RB Leipzig, Lyon and AC Milan according to their report, suggesting we’ll face stiff competition for the France U-19 star.
Rutter is out of contract next summer and has refused to sign a new deal at Rennes so far, leaving the French side ‘resigned’ to losing their top young talent either this month or in January at a cut-price fee.
