NUFC loanee off to perfect start – but it’s good & bad news for Lejeune & Muto in Spain

It’s been another good weekend for Newcastle United talent Freddie Woodman, who’s made an immaculate start to the season with Swansea.

The England U-21 star has kept THREE consecutive clean sheets for the Swans – moving him top of the Championship charts for goals concede alongside Watford’s Ben Foster and helping his side move up to third in the second tier.

Elsewhere, it’s been a mixed weekend in Spain for fellow loanees Florian Lejeune and Yoshinori Muto.

The good news is that Lejeune has responded to a shaky debut defeat against Granada last week, putting in a solid display in their 0-0 draw with high flying Getafe – who finished 8th in La Liga last season.

So, it’s been a confidence boosting weekend for the Frenchman, however Yoshinori Muto’s debut for Eibar didn’t quite go to plan.

He was an unused substitute in their 2-1 defeat at Villarreal the weekend before last, and it didn’t get much better yesterday, with him being brought on in the 90th minute in another defeat – this time at home to Athletic Bilbao.

With Eibar playing two games over the next week against newly-promoted Elche and Real Valladolid, let’s hope the Japanese international can earn himself a much needed start!

Moving back to the EFL, Kelland Watts played 90 minutes again in Plymouth’s 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury, but it was a difficult weekend for Kelland Watts – who was hooked at half-time in Accrington Stanley’s 1-4 defeat to Oxford.
