A Sky Sports panel have chosen Toon new boys Jamal Lewis and Callum Wilson as part of their “summer signing XI”.
Both players had solid debuts in black-and-white shirts and striker Wilson managed to bag his second goal of the season from the spot in our dramatic 1-1 draw with Spurs yesterday.
This summer has seen a change in transfer strategy from the club, with Bruce pushing for Premier League proven players who can come in and perform with no risk of them being an expensive flop from another country.
Here is the team in full, which sees our new boys line-up alongside the likes of Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara, Everton’s James Rodriguez and Arsenal’s Willian to name a few:
Callum Wilson’s form following his £20m move will be crucial to our chances of success this season and he should be full of confidence after netting twice in his first three games.
Left-back Lewis is highly rated, with Norwich fans sad to see him go and believing he has a big future ahead of him in the top flight.
If he turns out to be a quality buy then he could easily cement his position in the Newcastle side for the next ten years!
