talkSPORT’s Super Computer predicts final 2020/21 Premier League table – Interesting results for NUFC

TalkSport’s ‘super computer’ has brutally predicted that NUFC will finish a disappointing 16th in the Premier League this season.

Despite picking up seven points from our opening four games, their stat-based computer insists that we’ll still be embroiled in a relegation battle this season.

The only clubs predicted to be worse than Newcastle this term are Fulham (20th), West Brom (19th), Burnley (18th) and Sheffield United (17th). Between them, those sides have just picked up just one point; so it’s peculiar seeing us in the same dangerous boat them when we’ve started strongly.

Looking upwards, (and at the places I’ll think we’ll realistically end up) Leeds are predicted to finish as high as 10th – with Aston Villa and Southampton 11th and 12th respectively.

Here’s the predicted table in full.

  1. Liverpool
  2. Man City
  3. Chelsea
  4. Tottenham Hotspur
  5. Arsenal
  6. Everton
  7. Man United
  8. Leicester City
  9. Wolves
  10. Leeds United
  11. Southampton
  12. Aston Villa
  13. West Ham United
  14. Crystal Palace
  15. Brighton
  16. Newcastle United
  17. Sheffield United
  18. Burnley
  19. West Brom
  20. Fulham

Personally, I think it’s a odd to assume that we’re going to finish 16th, if West Ham (who are seemingly in and out of turmoil every other week) are going to finish a comfortable 13th.

Even Brighton have lost every game apart from their win at St James’ Park – and that was a blip in what has been otherwise a good start. Saying that, there’s clear potential there and they’ve been unlucky against some top sides, where as Bruce’s NUFC have had a few shockers in between wins over West Ham and Burnley.

If our key players can stay fit, Callum Wilson keeps banging them in and Steve Bruce chooses to play attacking football this season, we’ll certainly be finishing a lot higher than 16th in my opinion!

  1. We might just might avoid relegation. I don’t know what you have seen so far to think we will finish higher than 16th.
