New signing, 2 forgotten men & first-team duo start for U-23’s vs Fulham at St James’ Park – Official

Newcastle United U-23’s face Fulham at St James’ Park at 1pm today – and the team sheet released in the last few moments is an interesting one to say the least.

As expected, Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett start to gain some much needed minutes following their return from injury.

Elsewhere, the rarely-seen Matty Longstaff is also in the side – making his first start in a black and white shirt since January!

On the subject of forgotten men, Achraf Lazaar starts after failing to find a move away over the past few weeks, while there’s also been a debut handed to NUFC new boy Rodrigo Vilca.

Kyle Scott also starts – the USA youth international who signed from Chelsea last summer – along with giant French centre-back Ludwig Francilette and Swiss talent Yannick Toure.

An interesting line-up to say the least. Let’s hope our first-team trio come through unscathed and it’s a St James’ Park debut to remember for Rodrigo Vilca!
