Superb Elias Sorensen header makes it 3 goal involvements in 3 starts for new club – Video

Elias Sorensen has had a very mixed time after bagging over 20 goals at U-23 level across 2018/19.

Since then, he’s had a few awful stints away from the club, with us cutting short his last TWO loan stints after he made just ONE start at Carlisle and played barely 30 minutes of football in three months at Blackpool.

After being back in our U-23 set up since December last year, he completed a move to Dutch side Almere City on a season-long loan a month ago today – and it’s going very well for him so far.

In three league starts, the Danish talent has bagged two goals, an assist and a Man of the Match award, with him scoring in each of his last two starts against NAC Breda and Ajax’s second string.

Watch one of those goals below, with his brilliant header in their 2-0 win over NAC Breda coming at 1:10 into the clip:

His goals and assist have helped them to wins in their last two games, with them currently top of the Eerste Divisie and on course for promotion to the Ditch top flight as things stand.

Interestingly, his two goals have come when he’s been playing on the right-wing, with his other two appearances seeing him feature in his favoured position as a central striker.

The 21-year-old still has a long way to go, but it’s good to see him playing regularly and getting in amongst the goals in Holland.
