Steve Bruce injury update – 3 players ready to return, 4 ruled out & 2 passed fit for Southampton

Steve Bruce has shared a positive injury update ahead of tomorrow night’s trip to Southampton.

He confirms that “everybody is OK” and has trained, meaning Isaac Hayden is ready to return and Allan Saint-Maximin fit to play after suffering a dead leg in the win over Everton.

The NUFC boss also states that Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett and Matty Longstaff have all come through training unscathed and are fit to return to our matchday squad tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Bruce confirms that Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie are still sidelined as they recover from recent operations, with Martin Dubravka (heel) and Dwight Gayle (knee) also ruled out.

Here’s what the gaffer’s had to say:

“We have no new injuries, thankfully.

“Everybody is OK.

“Everyone has trained all week and we’re fine.

“Matty Longstaff, Paul Dummett and Ciaran Clark are OK.

“Jonjo and Matt Ritchie are still recovering from operations.”

“We’ve had our fair share but, touch wood, we have everyone else available who has been available recently”

A refreshing injury update from Bruce, which sees him go into tomorrow’s game with no new fitness worries.

Hopefully it stays that way and we have Shelvey, Gayle, Dubravka and Ritchie back around the busy festive period to come next month!
