Remember Valentino Lazaro? Well, he’s just gone and scored an absolute stunner for new club Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday night!
The Austrian suffered an injury soon after signing for the German side, meaning he’s only just made his first few appearances for the club in recent weeks.
He’s not taken long to impress, however, scoring with this stunning scorpion kick in the 90th minute in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 4-3 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen:
It seems convenient to say this now, but it always seemed clear that there was a very talented player in there during his time on Tyneside – yet Bruce seemed reluctant to give him a run in the side, limiting the 24-year-old to nothing but late cameos.
Six months later, who can blame him for returning to Germany via Borussia Mönchengladbach, with the Bundesliga high-flyers allowing him to compete in the Champions League and pushing for another top four finish at domestic level.
A stunning goal and perhaps an early contender for FIFA Puskás Award!?
