Watch Jeff Hendrick red card & abuse from Irish fans as NUFC star has absolute shocker – Video

It’s been a few weeks to forget for Jeff Hendrick.

After struggling to get anywhere near Southampton’s midfield in our last outing, he then came under criticism in Ireland’s 3-0 defeat to England last Thursday.

He actually started the game well, but defended poorly for Sancho’s goal that made it 2-0 and regularly gave the ball away after that.

A few days on, he’s started once again in Ireland’s UEFA Nations League clash with Wales on Sunday night – only for things to go from bad to worse for our summer signing.

Not only was he berated by Irish fans on social media for another below par display, he saw red in the 94th minute for a desperate lunge.

Watch the red card below:

Here’s what those watching the game had to say about the NUFC midfielder’s display:

Hendrick is actually so bad it’s not even funny. A complete liability, yet here we are 4 subs in and 10 mins left in the game and he’s still on the pitch!

Red card aside, Jeff Hendrick is an awful awful awful footballer

Hendrick having a go at Jack Byrne for a poor pass 15 minutes after he shot from the half way line and got us caught on the counter sums up Jeff Hendrick.

Jeff Hendrick trending again…. I can’t recall a less able centre midfielder.

I’d rather 49 year old Roy Keane come out of retirement and play for Ireland than ever watch Jeff Hendrick play another minute of professional football

The only positive to take from tonight is that Jeff Hendrick will miss the next 3 games. Thank ****

Not one for slating players in public but Jeff Hendrick has had a shocking game for Ireland. Tops it off with a straight red..

Someone actually pays Jeff Hendrick to play football?

Hopefully that is the last time we see Jeff Hendrick in a Ireland shirt!

Jeff Hendrick is possibly the worst footballer to ever play for Ireland, pretty impressive cause there has been some ***** played for them

I thought Jeff Hendrick was meant to be a solid, steady, reliable?

With Hayden fit again and Hendrick struggling for club and country in recent weeks, we may well see Steve Bruce leave the former Burnley man out of his starting XI against Chelsea on Saturday.

  1. Hendrick is a limited midfielder, but a good pro & can do a good job at the level he’s been playing.
But he definitely looks an unhappy lad at the mo – doesn’t seem to be playing with confidence. I don’t know if he’s carrying an injury or there is other stuff going on in the lads life, but the stick he’s getting from the Irish fans is bad craic imo. Not sure any of their players are pulling up trees right now.

Retire son & concentrate on the toon – don’t need that ****
