Jetro Willems could now seal surprise return to NUFC….but only on one condition – Report

According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle United are now ‘considering’ a move to bring Jetro Willems back to the club in January – provided he can prove his fitness.

The Dutchman is yet to return to competitive action with Frankfurt following a devastating ACL injury that cut his loan spell short earlier this year.

He has returned to training with the Bundesliga side, however he’s out of contract next summer and not in their plans – meaning he could be available at a bargain fee in the new year.

The Northern Echo also report that yet another injury setback for Paul Dummett has left Steve Bruce considering his options, with Jamal Lewis the club’s only fit left-back as things stand.

A report on Willems’ future has also emerged from The Chronicle today, who insist that the 26-year-old remains keen on a return to Newcastle United.

Let’s hope he can prove his fitness over the next six weeks or so, with so many on Tyneside keen to see him back in a black and white shirt following his impressive loan spell last season!
