Hatem Ben Arfa scores yet another stunner as he haunts club who released him at 33 – Video

Former Toon talisman Hatem Ben Arfa came back to haunt his former side Rennes with a superb strike to seal a 1-0 win for new club Bordeaux over the weekend.

The Frenchman recently joined Bordeaux after an unsuccessful stint in Spain and he rolled back the years with a ruthless goal from just outside the area to sink the side that released him back in July 2019.

Now aged 33, Ben Arfa has become somewhat of a journeyman in the twilight of his career, with the tricky winger now finding himself playing for his SIXTH club since his departure six years ago.

His goal last night showed that he still possesses the skill that made him a huge fan favourite during his time at Newcastle, rolling the ball past two players with ease is something we were so used to seeing him do at St James’ Park while he was here.

Enjoy Ben Arfa’s stunning strike against Rennes for yourself below:

A wasted talent in many people’s eyes, but good to see him bag his first goal for Bordeaux following a return home to France!

  1. One of the best wasted talents in football imo.

If only he but the graft in and had the committed to his trade they way the top players do – he’d be up there with some of the best players in the World.

He was a good as Robben or Ribery imo, but they worked hard & were more committed.
