NUFC hit by new COVID-19 crisis as club fear ‘mass infection’ ahead of Aston Villa – Report

Newcastle United’s COVID outbreak situation has worsened as a further TWO players have contracted the virus, according to The Telegraph.

It is believed that three cases of coronavirus were reported at the club prior to our win at Crystal Palace, one of them said to be Isaac Hayden, who was ruled out of Friday night’s win against Crystal Palace.

Now another two players have tested positive to bring our total to five, handing Steve Bruce another headache ahead of Friday’s trip to Aston Villa, with The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards revealing how fears are now growing that even more could be struck down with the virus over the coming 48 hours.

It is unclear which players will now be ruled out for the coming week, but the circumstances are beginning to look worrying for our perspective – especially if even more positive results are returned.

Other clubs have had to deal with star players being ruled out of action for the disease, but no side has had more than two cases at any given time.

Newcastle currently have five, an alarming number which points towards our Benton training ground being somewhat of a hive for COVID heading into the busy festive period.
