Yoshinori Muto scores first La Liga goal for Eibar to end awful start to life in Spain – Video

Newcastle United striker Yoshinori Muto scored his first La Liga goal for Eibar last night, finding the net in their surprise 0-2 win at Real Betis.

After playing just one minute in their opening two games of the season and starting one of their last four games before Monday’s night’s victory, he was not only in dire need of minutes but desperate for a goal.

Thankfully, one finally arrived for our £9.5m flop, with him drifting in at the back post and reacting first to score from a corner.

Watch it below:

This comes after fellow La Liga loanee Florian Lejeune also enjoyed a brilliant night with Alaves on Saturday, with him coming away from the Bernabeu the top rated defender on the pitch in their 1-2 win over Real Madrid.

Lejeune has been playing every week and playing well by all accounts, however the same cannot be said about Muto, making this a potential breakthrough moment for the Japanese international.

Let’s hope this is the first of many for the 28-year-old ahead of his return to St James’ Park next summer.
