Adam Armstrong receives interest from Premier League club after 26 goals in 2020 – Report

According to some new claims from the capital, West Ham are interested in signing former NUFC talent Adam Armstrong following his stunning rise to form at Blackburn.

This comes from the often reliable @ExWHUemployee, who claim that the 23-year-old is on David Moyes’ wishlist as he looks to bring in a new striker at the London Stadium.

News of alleged Premier League interest should come as no surprise, with his goal in Blackburn’s 2-1 win over Millwall last night taking his tally for 2020 up to 26 goals!

Wednesday night’s strike means he’s now the second tier’s top scorer on 14 goals, with an another ex-Mag in Ivan Toney just one behind him.

Based on their lack of game time at first-team level, it seems neither were going to enjoy that big breakthrough they badly needed at Newcastle United.

After all, they’ve only flourished via regular game time with lower league sides and worked their way up, however it’s hard not to look back on our decision to sell both for a combined £2m and wonder ‘what if’.

Thankfully, Blackburn’s chairman recently confirmed that we inserted a big sell-on clause in Armstrong’s contract two years ago – something we’d certainly benefit from if Rovers received their £25-£30m asking price from West Ham anytime soon!
