Agent tells NUFC star he’ll secure shock move to Tottenham if contract talks stall – Report

The Mail’s Craig Hope dropped a bit of a bombshell on the future of Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff last night.

He revealed that the 23-year-old has signed a 12-month deal with super agent Pini Zahavi – and claims that his new representative has been hired to broker a move away from St James’ Park if contract talks on Tyneside continue to stall.

On the subject of a surprise exit for the local lad, Hope’s ‘exclusive’ reveals that Zahavi – who also represents Lewandowski and Neymar – has told those close to Longstaff that he could secure him a move to Tottenham.

The Mail state that Newcastle officials will make another attempt to tie Longstaff down to a new deal should his form continue to improve.

That being said, you’d think any ambitious move to Jose Mourinho’s Spurs is a million miles away if he doesn’t up his game on the pitch, with the midfielder looking a shadow of the player who burst onto the scene in style 18 months ago.

For me, it’s time he focused on his own game, not the prospect of a move away from the club who gave him his big break at Premier League level.

  1. If Longstaffe was even half as good as some of the papers are making out he’d be one helluva player. Never been the same performer since it went to his head when Man. U. first started to show interest. Needs to apply himself a lot more. Wandering around getting in the odd interception and long shot does not make the complete midfielder.

  2. I have said it a million times the biggest mistake we made in the transfer window of 2019 was not snapping Man United’s hands off for the £35m they offered. Would love him to prove me wrong as he is a local lad but like his brother he is overated. Both championship at best.
The one we should have persevered with as a youngster was Ivan Toney

  3. Neither brothers are worth wasting time on as both are over rated. Father has made them think they have made it and I believe pop’s is pulling their strings. Get as much as you can for them and watch their careers go downhill.
