Some disgusting yet inspirational scenes have emerged from Paris tonight, with Demba Ba and his Istanbul Basaksehir teammates taking a stand after alleged racial abuse during their clash with PSG.
The former Newcastle United striker confronted the game’s 4th official who was not only accused of racism towards assistant manager Pierre Webo, but also labelling Ba “this black guy”.
This saw BOTH sets of players leave the field in protest in the 23rd minute, with the game looking set to be abandoned as a result.
Watch the footage below of the Senegalese striker calling out the 4th official before he took a stand by leaving the field:
For more context, this comes after the 4th official is believed to have used the n-word against Webo before sending Istanbul’s assistant off for his rightfully heated response in protest.
It is not clear whether the game will recommence, however it seems certain that both sides will only re-enter the field if the 4th official accused of racism steps down.
Well done to Demba Ba. A brilliant servant of Newcastle United but more importantly a top bloke who is standing up for what is right.

Love Demba Ba. Good, measured response. Good human being, our best striker since Shearer.
