NUFC loan star in stunning form as incredible numbers emerge after Bournemouth clash

Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow have both been superb in 2020, but there’s another outstanding Newcastle United goalkeeper going under the radar.

That man is Freddie Woodman, who is in incredible form during his second loan spell with Swansea.

After racking up an impressive 12 clean sheets during his stint with the Championship side across 2019/20, he’s started 2020/21 with a stunning NINE clean sheets in 16 games so far.

His latest shutout came in Swansea’s 0-0 draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday night – a game which would’ve seen the Swans leapfrog the promotion favourites with a win and move top of the table.

No player has kept more clean sheets in the second tier this season than the former England U-21 star, with him conceding just nine goals all season to give them by far the meanest defence in the second tier.

In fact, no one in any of England’s top four tiers has conceded less league goals than Woodman so far this season.

Based on comments from Swansea fans on Twitter, they’ve been hugely impressed by his all round game too, with some calling him the league’s “most underrated goalkeeper”, “outstanding” and a player who is “growing in confidence and stature every week”.

Dubravka faces a fight to get his No 1 spot back from Darlow when the Slovakian is fit again, but Bruce will have another big decision to make when Woodman returns next summer!
