Another NUFC star declared fit for West Brom as telling footage arrives from training ground

After Callum Wilson confirmed last night that he’s been one of few able to train ahead of Saturday’s game, new footage from the club’s Benton base shows Matt Ritchie is also fit for West Brom.

Up until now, there’s been very few leaks from the training ground to show who has and who hasn’t been struck down by COVID-19 over the past fortnight, leaving many fans guessing ahead of this weekend’s game at St James’ Park.

That said, a Matt Ritchie interview with NUFC TV shows on Thursday afternoon that he and Callum Wilson are two players who are NOT self-isolating ahead of the game.

Here’s what he’s had to say, insisting those available have worked hard, are in ‘good spirits’ and ‘raring to go’:

“The boys have come back in good spirits.

“Obviously it’s been a difficult time for everyone with the uncertaInty.

“It’s been pleasing to be back.

“The boys have worked hard and we’re raring to go.

“There’s no excuses.

“The game is hopefully on, I think

“We’re preparing as we always do.

“We have to take the positives – we had a week off to train at home and have fresh legs going into a batch of really good games.”

So, that’s TWO players who are clearly available for selection this Saturday, while Isaac Hayden is also expected to feature.

This is because he’s believed to be one of the THREE who missed our last league game at Crystal Palace due to Covid, meaning he’ll now be out of his 10-day quarantine and able to train again.
