Watch Saint-Maximin’s 36 second response to ‘bust up’ rumours & clear fitness hint – Video

Okay then, cards on the table. I’m often quite critical and some might even say negative in my blogs towards the Club. Wrong! I’m negative and critical against Ashley and Bruce and Charnley come to that wherever he’s gone!

I love the Club. I love the players, although will praise and criticise in equal measures if I see fit. But, like most of you reading this I’m a fan that merely wants to see a committed team playing with passion and a bit of style. We’re not getting that in large chunks.

One of the reasons for that is that ASM has been missing. A player that delights and sometimes frustrates but one that does get you off your seat when he gets the ball. He’s a shining light at times and always an entertaining watch. Not something that could be said of most at NUFC.

So, when the rumours of a bust-up emerged and he disappeared from view I was worried. Had this bust-up occurred and he was on his way out? Was he “Lost in France” as some claimed? There’s an expression “there’s no smoke without fire.” It was beginning to get very foggy!

Thankfully, he’s cleared a lot of that up when responding to questions from a NUFC fan during an Instagram Live on Monday:

At this point in time NUFC can not afford to lose players of the calibre of ASM so all these rumours were unsettling and the more the silence got louder then more the rumours grew. However, the video is still a little unclear.

On the one hand it’s good to have clarity. It felt like a rumour that escalated unnecessarily as BBC sports Daniel Storey talked about it in a podcast this morning. Storey has since said he shouldn’t have as it was just hearsay, but fake news got out and he fuelled it a bit.

Then Maxi himself when asked if he was injured has said no. He says he’s not. He says he’s fine and doesn’t have any problems. He says he loves Bruce, The Club, Newcastle, and England and that’s all we need to know!

All of the above is brilliant to hear, although that does make you wonder why he’s currently in France if he’s not injured and fully recovered from Covid.

I’ll only be happy when I see him back in an NUFC shirt terrorising defences. I and countless others hope that’s sooner rather than later.

  1. …”although that does make you wonder why he’s currently in France if he’s not injured and fully recovered from Covid.”

Mate. Unpack your bag of curiosity and stay at home. It doesn’t take a genius to work out he’s:

    a) not injured
    b) not fully recovered from Covid, and clearly recuperating from side effects
    c) wanted to get back home as soon as he could, which is just as well given all the current travel restrictions. Fair play Allan. He got out before the c*nt at No.10 could stop him.

Hope he recovers well over the break and we all see him back at his best next year.

    All the best to all.

  2. I admit, I haven’t been to this site for a long time … however, This is an important topic that has helped to make people more aware of these issues.
