NUFC star set for first start of 2020/21 vs Arsenal & 18-year-old could make debut – Report

Martin Dubravka looks set to make his long-awaited return from a serious heel injury against Arsenal this weekend.

This is according to The Chronicle, who claim that Slovakian international will start between the sticks in our FA Cup clash at The Emirates on Saturday night.

The same report states that U-23 star Elliot Anderson is also in line to feature, meaning the 18-year-old could make his Newcastle United debut should he come on from the bench.

As for Dubravka, it will be great to see him back in action for the first time this season after over FIVE months on the sidelines.

Karl Darlow’s stunning form has made his absence much easier to handle, however the 31-year-old was our player of the season for 2020/21 and without doubt one of the most influential players in our squad.

Hopefully he can put in strong display against a resurgent Arsenal side and that we also see a glimpse of highly-rated local lad Elliot Anderson – a player who was named in The Athletic’s ‘top 20 Premier League youngsters to watch’ in 2021!
