The Mail have confirmed that Allan Saint-Maximin has now returned to Tyneside after an extended period in France – and an eagled-eyed Newcastle fan has a picture to prove it!
The 23-year-old has spent the past few weeks in France after suffering badly with ‘long-term Covid’, however he’s now back in the North-East and set to be assessed by club medics.
Craig Hope’s latest report insists he’s still ‘at least’ TWO weeks away from a return to competitive action, meaning he’ll have been missing for a couple of months by the time he’s fit to play (his last appearance was November 21st).
After landing back in England, it looks like he headed straight to the shops, with this Newcastle fan (@aidan_rowan99) getting a picture with the winger in a local Sainsbury’s yesterday:
We’ll no doubt find out more during Steve Bruce’s press conference today, but let’s hope he’s back in action before the month is out.
He’s been well below his best this season, yet our attack has looked pretty blunt without his pace, skill and ability to beat a man!
