Newcastle have bid REJECTED for South American midfielder – talkSPORT

According to some ‘breaking news’ from talkSPORT, Newcastle United have had a bid REJECTED for Ecuador star Moises Caicedo.

They also report that it is instead Brighton who have struck a deal with his current club Independiente del Valle, making them current favourites to land the 19-year-old talent.

TalkSPORT also claim that the highly-rated holding midfielder also held talks with Manchester United last month:

This comes after The Times’ Duncan Castles revealed this morning that Newcastle had made a “late push” to sign Caicedo, with it being his understanding that the South American is now closing in on a £5m move to Brighton instead.

Caicdeo has been capped four by his country and has six goals and two assists in 31 senior appearances for Independiente del Valle – a top tier club in Ecuador.

Time will tell if we up our bid (or if these claims from talkSPORT are even correct!), however it seems we’ve been beaten to this one by Brighton if nothing changes!
