Mike Ashley will have to pay this seven-figure fee to sack Steve Bruce – Report

Mike Ashley would have to part with around £1.5m in compensation if he was to sack Steve Bruce, according to The Chronicle.

Lee Ryder reports that, with 18 months left on his current contract, it would be a ‘pricey’ process for the NUFC owner should he decide enough is enough.

He also claims that any replacement may also prove to be expensive, with the likes of Sam Allardyce having a £2m bonus in his contract at West Brom should he keep the Baggies up.

That said, with a £300m Saudi takeover on the line – they would walk away if we went down – and the prospect of another relegation unthinkable for the clubs finances and valuation, it should be a no-brainer for Ashley at this point!

After all, what is £1.5m when he stands to lose potentially HUNDREDS of millions of pounds should our abysmal form continue.

Bruce came out after the Arsenal game insisting he will NOT walk away and is “100%” the man to keep us up – probably because he wouldn’t dare quit and lose the payout he knows he’d be on the end of if Ashley gave him the chop!

If he really was this local lad who wants the best for the club, he’d leave this mess to someone far more capable of getting a tune of this capable group of players he’s brought down to his level.

  1. Did he not walk away from a few clubs – Birmingham, Wigan and of course Sheffield Wednesday! He knows he has to milk this job and hope for the sack as only a fool would employ him.

  2. Holy ****, mentioning 7 figures really doesn’t mean anything. £1 point 5 million ffs, why does the compensation really matter.

  4. 1.5m will save him 150m+ in the long run. Tight fisted cockney oaf. I wish him all the worst that could happen
