Emil Krafth set to sign for new club….until Steve Bruce surprise leaves him stalling – Report

According to the Daily Mail, Emil Krafth had looked set to complete a £2.7m move to Istanbul Basaksehir in the ‘coming days’ – only for a surprise start at Arsenal to leave him with second thoughts.

This comes after Turkish journalist İlhan Tüysüz claimed just yesterday that the Super Lig side were closing in on a deal for the 26-year-old Swede.

It seemed like a dubious rumour at the time – and may still be exactly that – however The Mail now report that he had in fact agreed a move to Turkey for just over half the £5m fee we paid for him back in 2019.

That said, Simon Jones’ piece claims that he is now stalling on a move after being pleasantly surprised by Steve Bruce on Monday night – with his rare start at The Emirates the first time he’s featured from the off in a Premier League game for over a month.

Sadly, he struggled at both ends in the 3-0 defeat. Aside from one brilliant block to deny Saka, his crossing way appalling, he was caught too high up the pitch too many times and continued to look a very average footballer lacking in any one standout trait.

Time will tell if this is true or The Mail jumping on Tuesday’s reports from Turkey, but I’d personally be happy to see us cash in.

After all, Manquillo and Yedlin have performed better of late….and even then it’s a position we should be strengthen in 2021!

  1. We Should seek to release as many platers as we can and allow all of those out of contract in the summer to go, we need a complete overhaul at this club from top to bottom, the more vacancies the better, starting with the owner and manager

  2. If you think Manquilo and Yedlin are the future then you are truly deluded.
Yedlin should never play for the club again after his shocking performances and Manquilo has the work rate of a Spanish builder….

Eh? You might want to read the last line again. Nowhere do I say that.

  4. what decent player wants to come here and be coached by this moron, sooner he is gone the better then a new man can assess the players we have and then make decisions on who to keep and who to get rid, but, with fatman still in charge who in their right mind apart from some run of the mill journeyman of a manager would come

  5. Sums us up really, we can sell a currently used full back, for wait for it, £2.7 million pounds. Oh how the mighty have fallen, get ready for the championship. We need it to lose some value and get rid of Cashley, we can rise again but we have to go down in order to do that, this has just gone on too long, let’s bite the bullet.
