Italian journalist claims NUFC are trying to sign Juventus defender on pre-contract deal

According to reports in Italy, Newcastle United are showing interest in signing Juventus talent Radu Dragusin.

This comes via Sport Italia journalist Gianluigi Longari, who claims that the Romanian centre-back has ‘received interest’ from Newcastle, Tottenham and RB Leipzig.

The 18-year-old signed a one-year professional deal with the Serie A giants last September, leaving Juventus at serious risk of losing the highly-rated defender for nothing in 2021.

Longari states that an extension is possible to keep him at the Allianz Stadium, however it seems we are one of three clubs circling incase he rejects their advances and looks to move on.

Dragusin is a 6ft 3′ centre-back who has appeared three times at senior level for Juve this season, featuring in their 3-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League, starting in their Coppa Italia win over Genoa and coming on as a substitute once in Serie A.

With his contract situation in mind, he’s now free to speak to other sides – just as Matty Longstaff was this time last year.

One to watch, but a potential new deal at Juventus or the prospect of a move to Spurs or RB Leipzig may appeal more than signing a pre-contract agreement with Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United!
