The Magpie Group have issued a scathing attack on under-fire NUFC boss Steve Bruce – calling for him to ‘do what’s best for the club’ and walk away ‘before it’s too late’.
The video message from the Newcastle supporter group also slates the current head coach for constantly making the same old excuses and throwing his players under the bus – insisting that HE is at fault for recent displays, NOT the players who looked a ‘different class’ under previous manager Rafa Benitez.

The constant attempts from those in the media to suggest it is the players who are to blame really has wound me up in recent weeks. After all, Bruce has landed his top targets, had over £100m spent on his attack, has a proven goalscorer, a £15m left-back he’s managed to ruin in six months, several capable wingers, a solid set of centre-backs and two brilliant goalkeepers who have saved his bacon for too long now.
Even if some will argue the squad has severe limitations, these stats are alarming and unacceptable:
- 9 games without a win
- 1 goal in 7 games
- 32% win ratio
These numbers are only the tip of the iceberg, with us the worst side in the Premier League for touches in the opposition box, failing to have a shot on target in SEVEN first halves (more than any other PL side) and, until recently, had forced our goalkeeper Karl Darlow into making more saves than any other top flight stopper.
We’ve been bad to watch and largely pretty awful for a long time, only now his luck has ran out.
It’s time for Bruce to go – and we sincerely hope Mike Ashley follows him sooner rather than later.
