NUFC loanee creates incredible scenes as he sets up freak goal vs Atletico Madrid – Video

Newcastle striker Yoshinori Muto has endured a relatively underwhelming spell in Spain so far this season – but his time on loan at Eibar got a lot more interesting last night!

In their clash with La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid, the Japanese international was adjudged to have been brought down in the box by Yannick Carrasco, and it was none other than Eibar GOALKEEPER Marko Dmitrović who stepped up to score past Jan Oblak to give the moment side a 1-0 lead 12 minutes in!

You can watch watch the surreal moment and dubious penalty incident itself below:

This means Eibar’s goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović has now scored the same number of goals as Newcastle United this year……one!

The game itself ended in tears for Eibar, with Luis Suarez scoring just before the break then again in the 89th minute to hand Atletico a big win.

As for Muto, he was operating on the right wing after being handed his first La Liga start since their 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in December.

He’s scored two goals in two games in the Copa Del Rey, bagging against lower league opposition in both, however his only other goal during his season in Spain came in a 2-0 win over Real Betis back in November.

So, three goals in 17 games for the Newcastle forward so far this season…and an ‘assist’ he’ll never forget last night!
