Sky Sports reveal shambolic reason this NUFC player was not allowed to play vs Aston Villa

If yesterday wasn’t enough of a shambles, it’s now emerged why DeAndre Yedlin was absent from the matchday squad at Aston Villa.

Sky Sports’ Keith Downie has revealed that his work permit has expired and wasn’t sorted in time for last night’s clash at Villa Park – with the club still waiting for the new one to arrive!

Honestly what other Premier League club would let this happen? It’s unheard of, but for us it’s just yet another example of how awfully we are run from top to bottom.

As Downie states, Bruce confirmed that there was some sort of visa issue after the game, but wasn’t quite sure on the details or when it would be cleared up.

Now, Yedlin would not be in my starting XI and it wouldn’t pain me to see him go, but to not have a player available because of an administration error at The Club shows what an absolute shambles we are at the moment.

The only way it could have got worse was if we’d neglected to inform Bruce and we’d played him. It really is a sad state of affairs, with the Club neglectful in all areas.

Yedlin spoke out last week about no-one from The Club speaking to him about his contract situation. It would appear that that and this visa issue is the Club speaking to him in their own shambolic way. He’s clearly not wanted and is on his way would be my guess.

At times you couldn’t make it up what goes on at “Our” Club and once again isn’t something like this the overall responsibility of the Managing Director? Whoever that happens to be at the moment as it certainly doesn’t appear to be Lee “Lord Lucan” Charnley!

  1. Bloody typical. Same **** different day, Bruce couldn’t pick his let alone a team, he is devoid of any ideas, when buy players pay them out of position and then blame them spineless. He as got to go NOW! . You does not use academy players some of which are better than the current squad.

  2. So you wouldn’t have picked him but felt the need to ***** that he couldn’t play.

Of course – it is entirely possible that the club applied for his visa in a timely manner but due to COViD the processing time is unpredictable.
It’s also possible that as there has been a lot of talk about Yedlin leaving , plus the fact he was not being considered for selection that it was not high on the priority list.

But none of this fits into your “let’s slag off the club regardless” agenda.

It’s never wise to mouth off at somebody without knowing the full story.
