Bruce’s latest loan bids set to decide DeAndre Yedin’s fate as USA star receives new offer

According to ESPN, DeAndre Yedlin has received an offer to join Galatasaray on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

That said, The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder reports that an early exit for the right-back may only be sanctioned if the club’s latest set of loan bids prove successful.

This is down to the fact that Steve Bruce’s 25-man squad is currently full, meaning Yedlin’s exit would be a welcome one IF it ends up making room for a new arrival in the coming days.

Interestingly, ESPN report that the USA international’s ‘preference’ is to sign a new deal at Newcastle United, however he made it clear in a recent interview that he is yet to hear back from the club with some clarity on his future.

Considering his contract is up in a few months time and he is looking to plan his next step – whether that’s to remain on Tyneside, move to Turkey or return home to the US – this is another act of total neglect from the club.

That said, it is worth noting that The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards reported earlier today that a mystery loan signing is ‘close’ and could be announced tomorrow. Should that be the case, I wonder if we will finally get back to Yedlin and sanction a move away this month?

You’d hope so, because a deal until the summer of 2024 at Turkish giants Galatasaray would be a very decent next step for the 27-year-old.

Who knows what happens next, but it seems there could be a bit of wheeling and dealing between now and 11pm on Monday!
