NUFC handed double boost ahead of Everton trip + new hints arrive on Ritchie & Yedlin rumours

Steve Bruce appears to have been handed a double boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Everton, with Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett back in training.

Elsewhere, it’s also quite telling that the latest snaps from the club’s Benton base show DeAndre Yedlin and Matt Ritchie BOTH in action – suggesting potential moves to Galatasaray and Bournemouth respectively are not as far down the line as some have reported.

This comes after several reports on Thursday claimed Yedlin had ‘agreed’ to join Galatasaray, with Matt Ritchie also tipped to return to the South Coast after The Mail confirmed Bournemouth were attempting to re-sign him.

Here’s pictures of all four in training, with Clark and Dummett’s return a timely boost after both sat out our last two games:

The ‘bad news’ is that there’s no sign of Federico Fernandez in the training photos, suggesting the Argentine could miss out once again this weekend.

Clark’s return could be a big boost, however, with the Irish international recently signing a new deal after barely putting a foot wrong in recent seasons.

As for Dummett, a return to a back four – which often relies on slightly more solid full-backs – could mean he comes in for a struggling Jamal Lewis.

That said, Dummett has suffered so many setbacks and new injuries since returning at the back end of last year – not that Bruce’s decision to hand him 194 minutes of football over the space of a few days was a bright idea!

  1. With Bruce it’s all about defence, he doesn’t get it, you have to score to win a game it’s that simple, everything I here is about defence. When he does play an 442 he picks the cart horse Carroll and not Dwight Gayle. If I was Gayle I would give the finger.

  2. What hell has it come to when we are giving away our players we all know that Richie will end his Career at at Bournemouth but he doesn’t need to be pushed we need him on the pitch he is one of our better players

  3. Steve Bruce has no idea how to manage a team,he has dabbled to many times with the team,he plays defence all the time I can’t remember the last time Newcastle tried to shoot from outside the box let alone inside the box,Shelvey is to slow, Hendricks is a joke,Fraser is another joke, longstaff has been lost in every game he’s played in this season, the whole team are too slow.He relies on ASM too much,we have had enough of his excuses, which are starting to become monotonous and boring, he should admit defeat and walk away, but he will wait for his £1.5 million every team he’s been associated with as manager have been ****.Hes just no good. He has overtaken Fat Sam as the worst toon manager in my life time ??
