Hamza Choudhury gets NUFC fans talking with Saturday night hint on social media

After strong links with a late January loan move to St James’ Park, Hamza Choudhury has got Newcastle United fans talking on Saturday night.

Why? Because 24 hours after Steve Bruce confirmed his interest in signing the Leicester City midfielder, he’s been spotted ‘liking’ a series of NUFC related tweets after our huge 2-0 win at Everton.

See the proof below, with eagle-eyed Toon fans noticing that he’d ‘liked‘ celebratory tweets from Allan Saint-Maximin and Alan Shearer just moments after the full-time whistle at Goodison Park:

Our fans don’t miss a trick do they!

This is no way proves he’s all set to sign, but the fact he’s interacting with Saint-Maximin and clearly looking out for NUFC related news suggests he’s very much aware of our interest.

As for the deal itself, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Friday that he’ll be allowed to leave – but only if a replacement arrives before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

The fact this takes his potential arrival out of hands perhaps explains why we’ve been linked with potential alternatives over the past 24 hours with Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham, Arenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah all linked.

One to watch for NUFC fans, with it clear Choudhury has an eye on our movements as we enter the final 48 hours of the January window!

  1. Choudhury finished Matt Richie’s career so I don’t want him at all… I’m surprised anybody does really. 😯
