Choudhury’s proposed move to NUFC made crystal clear as Brendan Rodgers offers update

Speaking to the press this afternoon, Brendan Rodgers has made his stance on Hamza Choudhury’s proposed move to Newcastle United crystal clear.

When asked if the midfielder will stay with the Foxes if no replacement arrives he said….”yes, absolutely” – confirming that we will only land the 23-year-old on loan IF Leicester bring in a midfielder before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

On the subject of that, Leicester have been looking to sign Nathaniel Chalobah, however it’s been widely reported that the Watford midfielder will only be allowed to leave if the Hornets secure a replacement.

It’s claimed Matty Longstaff was the man Watford wanted to arrive in his place, yet the NUFC midfielder isn’t keen on a move to Vicarage Road – which in turn has held back the domino effect that could’ve allowed us to land Choudhury on loan!

Rodgers when asked if he’s spoken to Steve Bruce today:

“No, nothing today.

Rodgers when asked if Choudhury will stay if no replacement arrives:

“Yeh, yeh, absolutely.

“Hamza is a boy we’re not rushing out of the door.

“Hamza is a boy we are not rushing out the door.

“If there was the possibility to get him out playing we would look at, but that is not to say he won’t play an important role for us.”
