Triple deal involving Watford, Leicester & NUFC on the cards – despite ‘rejected’ Longstaff bid?

Newcastle have REJECTED Watford’s loan bid for Matty Longstaff, according to The Chronicle.

It’s claimed the promotion-chasing Championship side have had an initial offer turned down, but it seems that stance could change if a deadline day domino effect is sparked between Watford and Leicester.

As revealed by Lee Ryder, Leicester are looking to sign Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah – a move that would see Brendan Rodgers sanction Hamza Choudhury’s proposed loan switch to St James’ Park.

That said, the Hornets would be left short in midfield should they allow that deal to go through, and The Sun’s Alan Nixon claims a potential move to Vicarage Road for Matty ‘has a chance’ if we bring someone in – and that someone would be Choudhury should Leicester replace him with Chalobah.

It’s a long shot when the window shuts in just over 10 hours time, however this is deadline day domino effect that’s also just been described as a possible series of events on Sky Sports News’ transfer show this morning.

Not only could it see us land one of Steve Bruce’s leading targets in Hamza Choudhury, it would allow Matty Longstaff to gain some much needed game time – something he looks more and more unlikely to get on Tyneside should we bring in yet another midfielder today.
