Gary Neville slates ‘really poor’ NUFC star, discusses relegation battle & Twitter pile-ons

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has called out summer signing Jamal Lewis for some “really poor” defending in the build up to Chelsea’s second goal on Monday night.

The left back lost Timo Werner from a corner, allowing the German to put the game out of sight for us.

Despite an improvement in form over the past few weeks, this isn’t the first time our £13m summer signing has been caught ball-watching.

Here is what he said while speaking on Monday Night Football:

“When the ball comes in, it’s a good delivery.

“There’s just space everywhere. The goalscorer Werner is against Jamal Lewis and it then comes down to is the individual man going to do his job?

“And Jamal Lewis is really, really poor.

“That’s poor defending, poor concentration and sleeping.”

Neville also spoke about the Premier League relegation battle, with Fulham’s recent surge making them the most likely candidates to stay up at our expense.

The former England international mentioned how big a blow Wilson’s injury is to our hopes – saying we’d be certain to stay up if he was fit – and even poked fun at how our supporters conduct themselves on social media at times – a fair presumption if we are honest!

Here is a clip of what he said after our loss:

  1. The Player’s are being hung out to dry by not having a Manager!

NUFC Board are the one’s asleep at the wheel – once again = how many times before you sack the Board and managing director???

It’s not the first time we’ve been given idiots as ‘managers’

SACK Bruce immediately and get a MANAGER in ASAP – then we’ll see players come together

    Get Lampard NOW
