New statement & ‘urgent plea’ to Mike Ashley released by NUFC fan group – Steve Bruce must go

*A message from Newcastle United supporter group ‘Toon For Change’ following last night’s latest defeat*

Toon For Change reiterate our urgent plea to Newcastle United – Bruce must go before it is too late.

Having managed over 300 Premier League games, Steve Bruce is statistically one of the worst ever Premier League managers. Despite an illustrious playing career, Bruce’s managerial career has failed to come close in any aspect. Whilst priding himself on his man management skills, Bruce’s comments such as “bang average” when referring to his managerial career are unlikely to inspire those currently playing under his stewardship or excite any potential new signings.

Steve Bruce is the most immediate threat to the future of our football club; the club he purports to love. We are now only 3 points outside of the relegation zone and with a worse goal difference than our immediate rivals. We continue to urge the club to appoint an ambitious and progressive manager urgently to protect the future of our club.

Without a change in the management team, the club is fast sleepwalking into their third relegation. Mistakes have not been learnt from previous relegation seasons where a change in the management team came at too late a stage to save our Premier League status.

This is not histrionics, this is not mass hysteria and we are not keyboard warriors. We have seen this play before and we know how it ends. Bruce out – before it is too late.

“Having managed over 300 Premier League games, Steve Bruce is statistically one of the worst ever Premier League managers.”

Yet he still has us further from the relegation zone than Rafa did, at the same point in both of his seasons in charge in the prem.

I had a look through the archives – I can’t seem to find the open letters you sent to Ashley to remove Rafa, when he performed WORSE than Bruce.
    Am I missing something?

Then there was that game in November 2017 when we lost 4-1 at Man U with Rafa in charge! Surely you wrote a letter demanding Rafa be sacked as we sat in 16th, 2 points from relegation and only 4 from the bottom.
    What? You didnt?

    Well that’s a strange one.

It is, it is and you are. You’re a bunch of kids who think if you scream loud enough you’ll be able to have cake before your dinner.

Now – if you don’t mind, can you keep it down? The adults are talking.

  3. We all have seen that Bruce just isn’t a Manager and shouldn’t be in the position…

…but nothing was going to happen after losing to ManU

If we lose to Wolves a list will be drawn up and if this is followed up with then losing to West Brom THEN and ONLY then will Ashley be forced to bring in a MANAGER ASAP

Why = because going down will wipe Millions off his selling price AND it also has an impact on his Business acumen!
This will have a negative impact on future business deals whether on the High street or Football

  4. PLEASE move on from comparison’s with PAST MANAGERS – totally different situations and players

Let’s just deal with the here & now = WE NEED a MANAGER in ASAP – no matter if we go down or stay up!

  5. GET STEVE BRUCE OUT OF THE CLUB AND GET THE COCKNEY REBEL OUT OF THE CLUB BECAUSE AS LONG AS MIKE ASHLEY IS IN CHARGE OF THE CLUB AS I AM SICK TO DEATH OF THE MANAGER OF THE CLUB AS I FEEL HE IS. A GREEDY COCKNEY CHAP GET RID OF BAD RUBBISH AND PUT IT IN THE BIN

  6. No one and I mean no one in the PL would give Steve Bruce a job but Mike Ashley did because Rafa spoke up to much and Bruce cost pittance. Ashley spoke had length in one of his statements about making mistakes, a child could see Steve Bruce was a major mistake waiting to happen yet here we are. I’d doubt the Saudis will want the club in the championship so what a stupid 350million pound mistake to make. I hope it blows up in his face and it bankrupts him, could care less anymore.

  7. ‘Newcastle hope to learn from Shearer and Benitez failings by sticking with Bruce’

    WHAT a CROCK of SH!TE

The Board haven’t learnt a thing = they spend 2 bob on numpty ‘managers’ and then leave it too late before making the change!

Shearer and Rafa were both brought in too late & that’s why ALL NUFC fans are crying out for a MANAGER ASAP after 2 years of mismanagement!

Past relegation’s have been down the the MD and Board sitting on their hands – it should have been these idiots that should be sacked alongside Bruce!

  8. byker bill you made a very good and very valid point…………next…..people who post Ashley out, will not make him go…….unfortunately he owns the club and will sell and leave as and when it suits him……And I don’t think we will go down, there’s a lot of football to be played……we are under a barrage of pressure from all angles, but we’ll still be premiership next season…….whatever happens next season I’d rather be a premiership club than a championship club irrespective of ownership and manager.

As long as he’s manager, I won’t be following NUFC.

  13. It’s nonesense sacking managers it’s like throwing your toys out of the pram to get your own way.
Why not try a new tactic and support Steve instead of the old scenario of doom and gloom. Change the goal post as it were. Get behind your team, show support instead of negativity. Turn defeat into fight, grit into unbowed
Unashamedly determination and rally your team and manager up the ladder of success.
Or should we just try the old trusted way of influence equals instant satisfaction and sack Bruce and start the whole sorry process again of ground hog day revisited!
