DeAndre Yedlin shocks NUFC fans with stunning assist to send Galatasaray top – Watch here

DeAndre Yedlin was never known for his quality on the ball during his five-year stint at St James’ Park, however he’s already produced a moment of quality for his new club.

A few weeks on from his January move to Galatasaray, the USA international has just bagged a brilliant assist to help fire the Turkish giants top of the Super Lig table over the weekend.

As you can see below, the former Toon defender picked out a perfectly weighted pass to put Emre Kilinc in behind – capping off an impressive first league start for the 27-year-old full-back:

This is his fourth appearance for Galatasaray, with his debut seeing him come off the bench to help his new side secure a 1-0 win over Papiss Cisse’s Fenerbahce!

Ironically, we are short of options at right back just one month after allowing to let Yedlin go, with Emil Krafth the only available right back following Javier Manquillo’s injury.

Toon fans must be scratching their heads after watching Yedlin’s assist here, with it a moment of quality that we rarely seen from him while wearing a black-and-white shirt.

That said, I’m sure most would’ve rather kept him around and let go of Krafth – a player who continues to look an incredibly ordinary footballer who struggles to cope with the pace and explosiveness of Premier League wingers.

  1. He wasn’t great. But had almiron style pace, with a good manager he could of been coached and improved. Should of kept him.
