Journalist close to Steve Bruce leaks big change he’s set to make vs Wolves this weekend

Martin Dubravka is set to replace Karl Darlow between the sticks at the weekend, according to The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards.

A big piece of early team news from the North-East journalist and ‘friend’ of Steve Bruce’s, and one that will be met with relief amongst most Newcastle United fans who’ve wanted to see him start for several weeks now.

Darlow has been one of our best performers so far this season but there have been calls in recent weeks to bring Dubravka back into the side – especially after the former was unconvincing in Sunday night’s 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford, being beaten at his near post for Rashford’s opener.

The Slovakian international was our player of the year last season but was cruelly ruled out for the first few months of this campaign due to a heel injury picked up in pre-season.

The form of Darlow has kept him out of the team, however Luke Edwards’ latest ‘exclusive’ for The Telegraph claims Dubravka will make his first start of the Premier League season in Saturday night’s crucial clash with Wolves.

This is the right move for me. Dubravka is not only a brilliant shot stopper and commanding presence, but a player who brings an air of calm and organisation to the back four.
